Proven: Hotel Lichtstad, Netherlands — Self-Service Check-in & Check-out

Hotel Lichtstad's front desk wasn't staffed around the clock, and late arrivals often found themselves standing at a locked entrance. The hotel installed a Winnsen key locker on the exterior wall, right beside the front door — so key handover no longer depends on a person at the desk.

After booking, the hotel sends a PIN code to the guest. A late arrival simply walks up to the locker, enters the PIN at the touchscreen, and the machine dispenses a key from the assigned compartment — check-in completed, no doorbell, no waiting. At departure, the guest returns the key into the locker and leaves.

With the Winnsen key locker outside the door, midnight check-ins and early check-outs are fully self-service — no night staff required.
